September 2016

We are proud and delighted to welcome students and staff back at the start of this new academic year, with a very special welcome to those children, families and members of staff who are joining us this year.  We know that your time with our academy will be very happy and successful.  Our new pupils in Reception and students joining Year 7 have had a fantastic first day – thank you to all parents for making sure the children arrived at school on time, looking super smart and proud in their uniform.

We must give huge congratulations to all Year 11 students who worked so hard to achieve the brilliant and well-deserved set of results this summer.  The way in which the academy’s performance is measured has changed this year and the final progress measure won’t be known until later in the autumn term.  However, our proportion of students achieving 5 A* to C has increased from last year and our initial progress measures show just how well our students have done from their different starting points.  There were very many individual success stories as a result of the hard-work and dedication from students, supported by their committed teachers and academy staff – our vision of ‘Where hearts and minds connect’ has never been so well illustrated.  Well done to everyone concerned.  We also have much to celebrate in the primary phase, where children in the Early Years made rapid progress from their starting points once again.

Students in other year groups also made great progress overall and our drive to ensure everyone achieves their potential has continued from the very first day of term.  We are looking forward to another very successful year!
