Primary Phase Class Teachers

Scale – MPS/UPS

Required from September 2017 we require experienced, enthusiastic and creative Primary Teachers initially for Key Stage 1 and Year 3 due to the continued growth of our successful primary phase.

We are looking for candidates with excitement and drive for teaching and learning to make a difference to our students. You will be joining a good academy with a highly effective and supportive team, where innovation is encouraged and supported.

Being the founding member of the Impact Multi Academy Trust and the only 4-16 all-through school in Calderdale, we can offer excellent development opportunities for all of our staff. We currently have 1047 students learning within the academy, and this will grow to 1420 by 2020 when our primary phase is full.

The successful candidate we are looking for will: 

  • be a qualified teacher
  • have experience of working in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and with SEN, Inclusion & Vulnerable students
  • be an individual who embrace and understands the ethos and values of The Halifax Academy
  • be an approachable individual with the emotional intelligence to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • be an individual with the skills, enthusiasm and confidence to contribute to the visioning and growth of the Academy
  • be an outstanding primary practitioner with a relentless focus on continually improving quality in teaching and learning.

Humanities Vacancies

Required from September 2017 our development plans have created the following opportunities within our new Humanities Faculty:

  • Director of Humanities - (Leadership Scale 9 - 13)

  • Assistant Director of Humanities - (MPS/UPS, TLR 1G)

  • Lead Practitioner Humanities - (MPS/UPS, TLR 1G)

These are exciting times as we plan for the development of our multi academy trust and through school status.  These roles present an opportunity to shape the growth and development of a brand new faculty within The Halifax Academy. Results in History and Geography are outstanding. The value added element of Progress 8 for Humanities in 2016 was 0.5.  On average students achieve half a grade higher than those with the same starting positions nationwide.

Required from September 2017 we are looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Art/3D with exceptional subject knowledge to join our lively, highly successful faculty. The appointed candidate will be a dynamic, hardworking teacher and a strong team player.

The successful candidate would be joining a good academy with a highly effective and supportive team, where innovation is encouraged and supported.
